Privacy Policy

Who are we?

We are a team of internet enthusiasts who are building websites like this one for fun.

What personal data do we collect, and why do we collect it?

Comments

When visitors leave comments on this website, we collect the data shown in the comments form and the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to check if you are using it. The Gravatar service Privacy Policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images on this website, you should avoid uploading those with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors can download and extract any location data from these images.

Contact forms

We do not yet have a contact form on our website. There is just an email address available for you to reach us on the Contact page.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our website, you may opt-in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year. If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts them. This cookie contains no personal data, and we discard it when you close your browser. When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. When you log out of your account, we will remove the login cookies. After you edit or publish an article, we will save an additional cookie in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after one day.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this website may include embedded content (videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves similarly as if the visitor has accessed the other website. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, insert additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that content. They also can track your interaction with their content if you have an account already logged in to that website.

Analytics

We are currently using Google Analytics tracking services. This action is only to help us better understand our users. We are trying to find out how they appreciate the websites we are building to provide more valuable content in the future. All IP addresses are anonymized in the reports, meaning we will never reveal your online identity.

Who do we share your data with?

We DO NOT share anything with anyone regarding your data.

How long do we retain your data?

If you leave a comment, this website will retain the comment and its metadata indefinitely. We are doing this to automatically recognize and approve any follow-up comments instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
If any user registers on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profiles. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights do you have over your data?

Suppose you have an account on this website or have left comments. In that case, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any information you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. Be aware that we are obliged to retain some of this data for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where do we send your data?

We will check visitor comments through an automated spam detection service named Akismet. You can read their Privacy Policy here: https://automattic.com/privacy/.
